I'm planning on buying a Gateway P-7811 FX in the next couple of days. The only problem is that it comes with Vista (which I really don't want) and doesn't come with Microsoft Office (which I really need). However, the Dell Latitude D620 I bought a couple years ago came with reinstallation CDs for Windows XP and Microsoft Office (along with various drivers and whatnot which are probably incredibly outdated by now), which I still have. Would I be able to use either or both of these on my new computer without having to buy them again?

I'm sure this is a really stupid and obvious question, but I don't know much about this kind of stuff.

Those CDs are OEM...cannot legally be done. Thread closed.

You need a retail XP install.
