This is actually for a desktop. I have an old HP with an Asus A7N8X-LA, which is HP's dumbed down version of the Asus A7N8X-VM. If I download the VM's BIOS, I am sure it will work on this board (if not I care very very little about bricking the system). I was wondering if anyone knows of a tool that would let me force the flash to be done?

I doubt that you'll find any "forcing" tools/apps to make systemboards accepting bios that is not made for them. The same reason that it is unlikely that the LA board would accept the VM bios. And if it accepts, you will have a very good chance, as you stated, "I care very very little about bricking the system"

    cheers ...

They're HP locked BIOS so it only takes HP BIOS from a flash. And I know the tool exists, people use it to upgrade the features on their Asus boards to those of pricier boards. Since the hardware is identical, it makes sense that the BIOS will work from the VM.
