All of the drivers that shipped with the system should be on the recovery CDs. If you don't still have them, they can be ordered, for example from sonyrecovery.co.uk. Instructions for installing the Magic Gate driver from a driver recovery CD can be found on .Sony's website here (although I don't know to which model(s) the information pertains - it seems to cover all XP-based models in the US and Canada - it should be useful in trying to locate the drivers on whatever recovery media you have).

Also, I believe that the model number you gave is peculiar to the versions that were sold in New Zealand. The more general model number is, I believe, PCG V505MNP (as indicated on this sonyrecovery.co.uk webpage) - you might have more luck finding things like drivers using that model number (check on the stickers on the underside to see if there is an alternate model number listed - I have the PCG-Z1A, which is also known as the PCG-571L (at least outside of the North American market).

Did you check on Sony's website? From the Sony Asia support site I found the following page, which provides support for your model, including, it would appear, a new wireless driver: http://www.sony-asia.com/support/product/pcg-v505mnp/modelfirst?site=hp_en_AP_i

And, unfortunatly, that's where you're going to stay. According to the _Vista upgrade webpage on the _Sony support website, your computer is not _Vista capable, and therefore there are no _Vista drivers for your hardware. To verify this, here is a link to the landing page on the _Sony website for determining whether or not your system can be upgraded to _Vista: http://www.css.ap.sony.com/support/vaio/vavuweb/ap/modelselection.aspx
