Do you guys know any media playing app that has an equalizer? I want something like the equalizer Winamp, and VLC has. The reason i'm looking for a new one is because VLC keeps on crashing randomly on me and i'm fed up with it.

Try Videolan..
-
lol, VideoLan = VLC ....samething

the VL in VLC stands for "videolan"... it's the same thing.
to the OP, uninstall and resinstall. i've been using VLC since day 1 with vista ultimate and without exaggerating, i can say it hasn't crashed once or given me the slightest hint of a problem. -
I use media player classic.
-
Media Player Classic in the best in my opinion.
-
Try mplayer. search google.
-
-
-
But dudes, media player classic doesn't have the equalizer i already have it on my pc. Plus, notebook yoozer, i already re-installed it about 7 times now.
-
I installed VLC yesterday and it was so quirky I removed it almost immediately. WMP 11 has a graphic equalizer.
-
I'm not talking about graphics, i'm talking about a sound equalizer. Maybe i should have been more specific in my first post.
-
I never cared about that. I guess if I want to change I just do it from the Soundmax application.
-
What soundmax application?
-
I have a Realtek audio card, so I just use that panel (it's included with the drivers).
-
MPC w/ AC3.

-
Anyway, best of luck... -
Thanks for the luck but what i really need is an alternative app. =\
-
I use Winamp as my default, and install Divx codecs.
I only use VLC if I run into a certain file type the no media player can play, and also VLC is amazing(basically the only one) at playing corrupt files. It gives the option to temporary fix it, the play it. -
Yeah but i'm not asking about which media player you use dude, i'm asking if you know any media players with an equalizer like VLC. I have installed quite a few including winamp and even though it didn't suite my tastes before i'm giving it another try.

Hey Calvin, just what is a equalizer just like VLC's? The WMP 11 "graphic equalizer" shuts off when I play a musical DVD but works with my stored music or CD's. Maybe you want to check it out before blowing it off?
View: Enhancements. Otherwise, it looks like you're out of luck! -
It's very basic, and simple but it makes my music sound a heck of a lot better than normal. Also, how do i get to that equalizer in WMP11? I've never seen it.
-
maybe u can try Audacity...It is not a media player in the sense but it does play music and it does have equalizer. Oh and WMP has the equalizer as well...like those "opera, blues, hall..etc." could those be the type of equalizers you need?
-
Does it have presets?
-
In the classic view where you see file, view, play, tools, help menu. Click view, scroll down to enhancements, click show enhancements.
If you don't have the classics menu showing, right click the top bar, view, enhancements. You'll see what it has to offer. -
That in media player classic right? If it is i already tried it. But i am liking foobar200 even though it doesn't have equalizer presets so this little hunt did yield something good.
-
-
I can't find it. Anyway, i'm come up with a genius plan. If i look at the live preset from VLC and copy it exactly into the foobar preset windows then i'll have an exact replica.
Genius, no?
-
i like KM Player
-
-
Audacity I believe has presets not positive though and so does WMP11 and 10. Its under the graphic equalizer
-
CCCP, which runs MPC [Media Player Classic]. Whenever you run MPC, double click the ffdshow audio decoder [it will appear in the taskbar]. There's an equalizer option, just click it and set. No preset options, though.
Hope this helps -
I use Zoomplayer, works very nicely
-
-
KMplayer...........
-
try to use a codec...I use K-lite codec for almost 2years now.
It is good. Just Google it.

If you use the ffdshow audio codec, any file using that codec to play can benefit from its equaliser.

Had a hard time finding it because in vista it doesn't show the menu so i right clicked now playing and it showed me the menu you were talking about. I'll check it out later when i have time. But my foobar idea didn't go over so well, but i'm still sticking with it because it's fast.
