I've been using VPC for a while. While doing this, I have been able to get multiple windows virtual machines to talk with different physical machines - IE school's mail server.

I'm wondering if I run VM ware (for linux), would I be able to vmware virtual machines talk with VPC virtual machines?

    Hard to explain.

Sure. I mean, I've not actually tried it, but there's no reason why they wouldn't. Virtual machines appear as regular physical machines on the network, so I can't imagine that it'd matter if they were VMWare VM's or VirtualPC VM's. They'd each see the other as a regular physical machine. I'm virtually certain.
