    HELP.

So I have created a Windows 2003 virtual server using VMWare. The issue I have is when I try connecting to my web site (on my virtual server) from my host machine using the computer name it does NOT work; however, if I use the server's IP address (instead of server name) it works.

    What am I doing wrong?

You cannot just make up a name and expect it to work. You need to either configure DNS or the hosts file to point to that IP address.
