I just installed XP in VMware on Vista and I can't get XP to access the internet. I've used virtual XPs on XPs for a long time, so I imagine this is a problem with Vista. Is there a way to remedy this currently? Thanks

I haven’t used VMWare in Vista therefore can’t help you much. But here are some general suggestions: make sure that you have a Bridged or NAT type network adaptor setup for the virtual machine (Host-only will not allow outside access). And also check if Vista firewall has blocked or disabled the VMware adaptors.

I don't use Vista firewall and allowed VMware to access the internet through ZA. The network configurations are the same as those used on XP, so they should be fine.

Did you try disabling zonealarm or make sure your router has set number of allowed conections, and/or allows Vmware's MAC address?

What network setup do you have for the Guest OS? As I haven't had any problems using VMWare on Vista and I've been running it since I got my 1520... I'm running 3 Guests OS... Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista 64bit, and Ubuntu 7.04 64bit...

    None have problems...
