    Very Poor Download Speeds?

    right earlier i had download speeds that could go to 1.2MB and would barely drop below 200kb but for some reason i cant even get past 100kb any ideas whats doing it?

    after. but its only just started ive restarted the computer several times since then and it was fine so i dont think it was that - i have the back up if it doesnt improve say by tomorrow then ill go back that that backup

    Do the administrative tools for your router show any significant change in transmission statistics, or are there any warnings, errors, or information items in your event logs that are internet- or network-related?

    Yeah since you've done several restarts after the reg cleaning and you experience the problem now I don't think the cleaning is causing this. But I guess you can try to revert to you backup if by tomorrow the problem is not fixed. Might be a good idea to call your ISP too.

    i dont have access to the router. the ethernet cable goes from my computer into the house phone and then the house phone has a cable goes from that into the wall :)

    :) i have no idea as im at uni i have no idea why its going so slow.
    maybe because of so many people on it? but they wouldnt explain why i was getting 1.2MB and now cant even get above 100kb
