I have a new entry level budget Dell Inspiron on its way. 256 gb ssd, 8 gb ram, AMD Ryzen 7 and windows home pro (I think), Dell 15-5585.

What one or two software mods can I do to remove some of the ads and some of the bloatware. I should get the unit on Monday. This will be mostly used by my wife for basic home use. When I mentioned doing something to clean it up, her response was, "No, absolutely not". . I've read thru many of the threads on here, but, most are above (way above) my expertise and knowledge. So, I need something very basic and simple as she will NOT want/let me do too much (nothing).

I have googled and saw found this on Windows Central:
    https://www.windowscentral.com/how-remove-advertising-windows-10

It looks kind of promising, the quick look I took. I've also seen something (app) suggested on here that that might work, also, O and O Shutup?

It needs to be something very easy to do and not debloat very much, so the wife won't miss it and the computer does not act up because of it (most important result, everything on the computer should work as it's supposed to - no reboots, missing, inoperative functions, etc.). (I have that reputation with my family from rooting my phone-they don't want me to touch anything of their's).

Thx, for any assistance and suggestions.

Also look at this site where I got the hosts file from to see how to save to the right location. I used that site and added it to the Windows hosts to further block adware and redirects.

    someonewhocares.org/hosts/

Forgot to mentioned as admin change it's properties to Read-Only and create a Limited user account so that further protects the system to only when updates are needed.
