    Is there any software, (free or trial-based) that you can download to edit, copy, or create your own video compilations? Any references will be appreciated. :D

    Well Windows XP and Vista both come with Windows Movie Maker, thats basically the best you will get for free. It will let you edit and create basic layouts for videos.

    Also try Advanced Video Editor (it's totally free) the download link is at the bottom of the page

    Otherwise I would highly recommend if you are considering purchasing a program to look into Adobe Premier Pro ;)

    Adobe Premier Pro is good. I played around with it and it was rather nice
