Looking for some basic software to create animated videos. Nothing major or intense. I searched everywhere but wanted some opinions from live individuals.

You may consider looking into something like
Alice for exceptionally basic animation scripting. Or are you talking animation like adding transitions and titles and such?

Just looking to create a educational video where I can add voices and interactions between characters.

I found that one easily its on the video titles but was seeing what others find worth using (free or purchase). Seems Blender works great which was suggested.
