I have a 1.5 GB video file that I want to fit on a 1 GB flash drive. Are there any programs that can automatically resize the width/height of the video to give me that?

Quicktime Pro allows re-encoding but its not really a fully automatic system. What is the file encoded as at the moment? And i'm not talking about the extension, what is the actual codec (open it in media player, right click on it in the now playing list and select properties to find the video codec and audio codec)?
