    I need a good free program out there to capture video from a DVD. I dont wanna copy the whole DVD but parts of a DVD, certain scenes from a DVD or video from my DV camera. Does anyone know of a good program?.

    shoulda came bundled with your camera. you can check out pinnacle, i think that's free. majority of software that's free, well let's just say it sucks. i do believe adobe has like a premiere elements that might be free and scaled down from the standard premiere. check it out. a lot of DVD burning software also has these capabilities, like nero. i believe it's limited, but you can cut, edit and burn, so that might be just what you need.
