I'm looking for video editing software that will let me splice music into video and maybe mix audio tracks? Anything good out there? :D

I use Pinnacle Studio myself, it isn't the most stable thing you can get, but I like it. It has a great user interface.

If you have XP or Vista - Movie Maker is alright if you know how to manipulate it. Personally I use Premiere Pro CS3 which I love.

    Some alternatives though:
    Sony Vegas
    Pinnacle Studio
    Premiere Elements

I recently used Sony Vegas Pro 8.0. It was really great and offered a lot of great features. I believe a 30 day trial is available for download online. Best part is that the trial version has all the features unlocked.

I don't think you're going to get anything good for free. :/
