Plays perfectly without flash in Chrome 3 also.

Very cool. Firefox continues to get even better.
Im excited for the private browsing feature, as it is the only feature from Chrome I miss. New benchmarks are putting this is even faster than Chrome, nice job development team!
-
Seems very good, i wonder what Google is going put on Chrome.
-
Meh.
I'm using Firefox 3.6preAlpha right now. Most of the add-ons work
and there are some new features as well (3.5 doesn't have it). -
"...or do something cool we can't even think of yet."
-
Where the heck do you get the 3.6 Alpha? 3.5 isn't even finished yet!

Mozilla Minefield, updated nightly. -
Cool! Thanks!
-
Neat video. The "personas" thing seems like they're just different themes that come with FF, or is it something else?
-
It's an add-on for FF I think.
-
Gotta love the way canadians say about and out.
Anyway, i've been using the firefox betas lately (now not beta no more ofcourse) and yes, the private browsing feature is awesome for my naughty habbits, and not to forget that you can clear only what've happened the last hour.. Other than that its all way snappier imo..

I can't wait to try out FF 3.5

nice to see the video tag working

I actually don't like how it does private browsing, it forces you to either browse privately or the normal way. With IE and Chrome, they give you a new window to privately browse so that you can continue what you were doing before you decided you needed privacy. I think the heavy multitaskers may have an issue with that.
I even tried to open a new window when in private browsing and stop private browsing thinking that it would only affect that window, nope, both stopped. And if you were browsing with two windows (for whatever reason), when you start private browsing, they will merge into one window and then separate again when you stop. To its defense, it does remember the tabs and websites you were on when you started private browsing. -

i normally have a second browser open for private browsing. that worked since years very well
edit: but you do have point. -
I like the fact it has private browsing (correct me if i am wrong, but opera does not), it makes the browsers i have installed IE, Chrome, FF and Safari (only because I want to see what my brother is raving about) kinda interchangable.
It does do it better than Safari because you aren't quite sure if you are browsing privately or not. But I think that it is a nice feature all browsers should have. -
I used Minefield/Shiretoko for a while but realized what a waste of time it was, lol.
Firefox 3.5 sounds pretty cool, speed improvement looks good too
-
You must be one heck of a multitasker if you need it to be able to do that!

You can say so. I can play WoW, check mail, read blogs and read this forum at the same time. So, surfing in two windows is not very hard.
-
Beware of Minefield. Some nightly builds I have encountered constantly crash.
-
Mine hasn't crashed for once.

Firefox is finally implementing features that ie8 and opera already have a long time ago.
-
I tried Minefield a while back with no problems.
-
I don't want to know.... I just don't want to know....
Just don't get what needs to be "privately browsed" mixed up with the IT research your boss needs
-
Hence I said some nightly builds. Just because you have encountered a nightly build that did not crash, does not mean it was the same nightly build I encountered that crashed. I have been using Minefield for a long time.
Thankfully, the nightly builds come out frequently so those show-stopping bugs are quickly fixed. -

So if they are still doing new versions of firefox, what is minefiled? I thought it was going to be the new firefox.
-

Minefield is the test builds of Firefox before they become official "Firefox" versions. With Minefield you get the latest features of Firefox before any Beta or RC builds. -
Jay, I see your sig everywhere! I just wanted to say that I'd love that setup! Maybe a bit bigger... 12.1" or 13.3".

Are you serious?
You can it from my brother from Nigeria for $1000USD. His brother is dying so he needs the money. He'll selling it for cheap so you'll get a great deal from him.

Haha, nice try Jack!
Can't wait for FF 3.5 to be released! -
It's already out! If you have 3.5RC2 just update and it will download RC3.
-
Is it already out?
-
It'll be out Tuesday.
-
All at the same time? Remarkable.
-
PC Magazine has confirmed: Mozilla is scheduled to release Firefox 3.5 on Tuesday morning.
-
Yep, talented that way
-
Final release tomorrow! im gonna get it the moment my computer decides to boot up
( just kidding, its working perfectly )
im trying out the RC, and its really fast! not that i care about the private browsing function anyway, seriously.
Thumbs up for the Firefox Dev team! -

Btw, private browsing is great for, f.e. if a friend, or my gf, just wants to quickly check her own mail, facebook, or what ever. then, i in the future train them to use private browsing, so they can log on with their own account, do their stuff, and then quit, and all is back to my settings, logins, etc. that's quite neat.
