Not sure if this is the correct forum... but oh well, it can be moved.

So I run a 7600 gt. It's been serving me great lately, i'm a heavy gamer.

But earlier today.... i was playing COD4 and randomly my screen just went black. Just black. PC stayed on and everything. Just black.. I restarted, smae thing. Did the same in TF2.

Now, it won't even display at boot up. I've changed cables and done a system restore... stillw on't. I'm currently using my integrated gpu. This is the weirdest.

I think it may be my PSU, it's only 350 watts. But it's weird i've never had this problem before...I run two HDD's and some other equipment. I also run a Foxconn with a 610i chipset... that might be a problem too.

    Help?
    Thanks :D

I’m assuming you are using a desktop with an external display… If the monitor works with the integrated graphics adapter but not with your 7600GT then you can safely rule out the monitor. Try reseating the graphics card.

I did, it worked once for a little bit then went to black again. I tried my bros 9800 gt and i got BSOD once i launched tf2.

This morning my computer took forever to POST, like 15 seconds.... I'm thinking its either the power supply or motherboard. I'll put in a 400 watt temporary psu today, we'll see how that goes.

Did you get any warning or error messages (or beep codes) during post? It sounds to me like the GPU is dead or almost there. Have you checked the GPU's temperature when you're putting it under stress?

NVidia has had some bad bumps with almost all the cards in the 9000 mobile line. You should call your manufacturer for support, tell them that your NVidia chip is not displaying. They may have you send it back for repair.

    GPU's don't die easily tho :S

I get the one beep once it eventually post's. That just means everythign is ok, right?

They still do die, and if it's a 7600, then it's getting pretty long in the tooth by now, which means that it's probably nearing the end of its designed service lifetime.

Have you tried reseating the GPU to see if perhaps it was just a loose connection?

    Yea i reseated it...

I tried a 9800 gt, and that worked.. so i think it's the 7600... i probly need a new psu too.

Sounds like you hit the right diagnosis - not a pleasant one, mind you, but at least now you know what the source of the trouble is.

    But it sucks, it's a $200 problem..
