    Hello-

I use the VideoLAN (VLC) media player to play videos on my PC and have been using it for over 6 months without problem until this afternoon. Abruptly the VLC player began playing errratically, followed by the message that the player had stopped working correctly and that Windows would notify me of any possible solutions (but none were suggested). I upgraded the VLC player from vlc-2.0.7 to vlc-2.0.8, but the same result occurred, again with no suggested solutions from Windows. The PC seems to be otherwise operating normally.

My PC specifications are included in my signature. My Windows Vista OS is up-to-date, although currently Microsoft is offering only security updates for Vista. Any suggestions for troubleshooting this problem and identifying causes and solutions? Admittedly I am only a rudimentary-level PC user, and I apologize if I omitted any important information. Thanks much for your attention and any suggestions.

    Ken
