    Virtual Drives and Vista

    I have used daemon tools...and i cant get the virtual drives can anyone give me suggestions.

    have you tried the latest version of DAEMON tools?
    it works fine on my vista machine

    make sure you right click and run as administrator when you add virtual drives.

    If Daemon tools still refuses to work try PowerIso. It works absolutely fine on Vista.

    PowerISO works really well with Vista..

    At least for me it does.

    DAEMON tools works fine for me too (under Vista Ultimate). What is the error/problem ?

    Daemon tools on install needs to reboot -- and continue the install did you do this when you installed Daemon tools?

    Otherwise I've used the forementioned:

    Alcohol 120
    PowerISO

    with fantastic results.

    I finally realized that the reason Alcohol 120% said that I didn't have administrative privileges is because you have to right click it and say "Run as an Administrator" for it to be any good... Stupid Vista.

    Other operating systems such as Linux and Solaris also require root user privileges to mount a volume... so Vista is probably no different. Microsoft's new adoption of some of *nix design concepts is proving problematic for some users to grasp.

    Just don't get magic iso w/vista...every time i installed it crashed my vista machine and i had to do a clean install.
