Hello guys, i'm looking for a way to debug virusses in VirtualBox but im scared that i may screw up the host PC. If i disable network, sharing etc will that islolate the virus on the VM? And if the virus do manages to breakt out of the sys will my AV (Avast!) detect it before it triggers?
Good day!

VirtualBox - Virus and Malware
VirtualBox itself has been tested against malware and virus, unless you pick up the download from some dodgy sites
Saying that I would verify and check malware in share folders, network drives etc ... for bad stuffs. And yes, disabling sharing and network connections would isolate the issue, but no guaranteeing that it would not infect once back on line - unless you have a pretty good antivirus software. There is always that very small % of bad stuffs that antivirus software will miss
cheers ... -
So the chances of getting a virus from vm is ? And do you think avast can prevent the virus from triggering when its outside the host?
