I was able to split up an hour long slideshow/movie into segments to upload to Youtube and everything worked fine except that YT immediately flagged one video for copyright infringement for using a song I didn't get permission for from WMG.

They have a fix called AutoSwap where you go through a bunch of genre, artists and songs but it's kind of messed up and may leave advertising.

Anyway, rather than do AudioSwap or have the entire video muted, I'd like to cut the 1:40 song out (Flight to the Ford except from LOTR). How do I do that?

With audio swap it just replaces your soundtrack with a song.

Last I checked you have no control over how that song is applied.

You can easily just remux your video with a new song and upload it again.

No need to reedit or reencode.

Actually a friend of mine made the DVD video using a Mac I believe. I converted the vob files to avi (using Handbrake) and I'm not that good at any of this, however I am learning. ;)

Spliting the video was a piece of cake. Using direct stream copy it only took seconds to save the splits, no reedits, encoding, or reencoding necessary.

If I "remux" my video with a new song, won't I need to cut the other out to begin with?

Hey, while we're "muxing" (never heard the term), during the video, part of the audio that has the copyrighted song also has an voice interview (the song fades to the background). Can I save the speech and just cut the song?

If possible I suppose I'll have to revert to the vob file.

Your audio file is just one file you can pick and choose what to hear unless you had the original files before they were put together in an editor.

You can use a simple audio editor like audacity and make a new audio file that has a new song and cut where the old song was and then have the speech come back into play.

You would have to split it all again though if you have it in multiple parts, thats going to be a major pain.
