Nopes, Vista Home Basic has no Aero, no Media Center. In my opinion, Windows XP Home is better than Home Basic.

Can you download Aero to your computer once you have Vista home basic?

No, it doesn't need 2GB of RAM. It only wants 2GB...

Does 1GB for Premium slow the computer down any? And would you lose memory faster?

If I get Windows XP, can't I download the Aero look onto that?
How much is Vist Premium by itself anyway, I mean if you buy the OS apart from the computer?

No, you can't download Aero for XP. It's a Vista-only thing, but it's not included on Vista Home Basic. A Vista Home Premium OS will cost $250 for the full system, and I think either $99 or $149 for the upgrade version.

I don't even know why Microsoft even came out with Vista Home Basic. Might as well use XP. The whole point of Vista is its new looks.
