I have a small image processing application that runs in XP but gives "out of memory" errors soon after start in Vista 32.

The use of "compatibility mode" couldn't help and I wonder if anyone had luck with Vista emulation of XP? Right now I have a feeling the compatibility mode is another big failure of MS and Vista.

Some programs just will not work with Vista. It's like that with the Nero Essentials that came with my DVD burner. That's why they have their "known incompatibility" list. If that's the case, even compatibility mode will not help

What application? We can't help if we don't know which software you are using...

Also, do you only have 1GB of RAM?

EDIT: The software incompatibility list was made after Beta 2, and was not updated for whatever reason, many, if not most, work anyway

    For the record.
    A. Compatibility mode has never actually worked for anything.
    B. AOE 3 warchiefs gives that error thing, as well as visual basic, and C++, yet... they work.

If you have a copy of XP, you could set up virtualization.

I might downgrade to XP altogether. Finally there's a good reason.
