I want to set up a regular backup schedule, making an image of my hd to an external drive every 2 weeks or so, and I'm not sure what program to use. I heard Acronis is good but that it can create problems with Vista and SATA drives, which is what my setup is. Any feedback on using this, or any other program regularly with Vista and a SATA drive? I don't mind spending a bit if I know I'll be safe.

The two biggies are Acronis True image and Norton Ghost. There are several free programs, but I've always went back to Acronis for ease of use and reliability.

Acronis had some difficulty with Vista at the beginning because Vista uses a non-standard start sector (well I geuss it's not non-standard anymore). That was corrected quickly and there aren't any major issues between ATI and Vista.
