I know you are only allowed to install the OEM on one computer... But is there a limit for how many times you can reinstall? Is it only a 1 time thing?

You should be able to install it on the same computer as many times as you want.

Yes, you can install it as many times as you like, as long as it's on the same brand of computers.

He's referring to if you are using a CD from Dell, HP, Sony, or whonot. If you purchase an OEM through NewEgg, Amazon, or elsewhere it will register as being exclusive to that PC the first time you activate it.

The only thing u cannot do is move the OEM to another computer. Or a whole new pieces of hardware that u just built after the old junk that u installed vista to, failed on u.

Essentially an OEM copy of Vista will be licensed to that hardware. So if you want to install Vista on another system--you would be required to buy another copy of Vista. But if you had a retail version, you would be allowed to transfer the OS onto a new system provided you uninstalled it on the original one first.

Can't you transfer an OEM copy of XP to another computer if you uninstall it on the former one?
