Hey guys i want like 10 more fps for my cod 4 or so. I just got back to cod 4 again and my fps aint stable anymore so im just gonna install xp so my question is will i get noticeably fps boost?
Also how can i create a partition for xp??? Will xp auto do it?

Make sure your notebook has the correct drivers for XP first
If i remember correctly, XP install didnt have a partitioning tool. You will have to shrink your current drive.
I cant guarantee your recieve big FPS boosts though, it might be driver dependent -
what drivers are you using right now? How many FPS are you currently getting?

What graphics card do you have? If it's the 8600M GT, you should be getting fantastic framerates... -
At this point, the game may be faster on xp or vista, depending on your hardware
There is really no surefire way to tell -
trial and error, theres no way you can be sure
it's the same assumption ppl have when they say that since xp doesnt need much resources, you'll get more battery life, i tried it out and learned my lesson with getting less than 2 hours of battery life on xp while i got 3 on vista
good luck -
Well my currents drivers is the 169.09 , I tried the 174 which is very unstable driver for rainbow six vegas 2. Assassins creed ran pretty bad on my system on low ress, and everything else low. Also cod 4..fps arent stable they jumping and droping from 100+ to 25 or 80. Even 100 - 80.( i have custom multiplayer config to have those fps) I think with xp i won't get huge fps drops. Ill have to create enough space to create new partition . What program should i use to make a partition ? (partition magic) Also i can't seem to find the driver for my HHD which i need inorder to install Xp.

^^ I totally agree. But the reason i was gonna do xp install is because i know i can get more fps then vista for sure. So any suggestions on where i can find the HDD drivers for my HDD ?

You need to go to the manufacturer's website for drivers.
Vista 32 to xp 32 bit worth it?
