I have windows vista upgrade 32 and used it to do a fresh install on my laptop using the work around to get windows activated.
Can I use my vista 32 upgrade key with vista 64 upgrade?
Does vista 64 upgrade have the workaround also?
Thanks

1) Yes, you can use your key to upgrade from 32-bit Vista to 64-bit Vista.
2) What work-around did you use?
3) There is a search function on this website. It's free to use. -
Are you talking about the work around that involves installing an unactivated copy first using clean install (no key entered) and then run the upgrade from within with the upgrade key? If so then it should work.
While I haven't tried or seen this, apparently a forum member here reported a while ago being able to clean install Vista without a key (30 day license) and then use the upgrade key later to activate it. I still have my reservations as to whether this works or not but if it indeed does work then that's an even better work-around and involves one install instance instead of two. -
Yes, that is what I am talking about. I've done it twice, it works like a charm.
Thanks, so all I have to do is find a copy of vista 64 upgrade and I can use my vista 32 key. -

is your pc x64bit capable, as you don't give us much information....
i believe the 64b upgrade has to be a complete clean install, as you cannot upgrade from 32b to 64b. You MUST boot from the x64 disk.
but i've been wrong b4.......... -
yeah this works fine and as already said simply install it twice and use the key the second time around. any 32 bit key is good for 64 bit vista as well
Vista 32 upgrade key and work around?
