I'm running Vista Ult 64 and have Verizon FIOS internet. My issue arises with the Vista Network page. I always use wireless connection and I can be connected, browsing the internet etc., but if i go to the Network window it says I am not connected to a network. Why is this?

This issue is preventing me from streaming media across the network to my XBOX360 because Windows Media Player thinks I am not connected to the internet. I mean, its not an end of the world type of problem...I just think its strange. Anybody have experience with this, or know how to fix it? Thanks!!!

Windows Sidebar Network monitor realizes I'm connected (VFW77), but the Network window says I am not.

    Very strange.

Network and Internet Connections are different...

I have no Network connections either, since I haven't set one up, and I dont need to network devices

What are you trying to do specifically?

If you are trying to get your 360 to connect to a network with your PC on it to stream media:
-Try creating a network, and then connecting to it with your 360
-Go into Media Center and look around there etc...

    Oh really?

Basically I'd just like to be able to stream media files wirelesses to my XBOX like I could when I had Comcast. I just got a FIOS 2 weeks ago and realized this strange issue over the weekend.

What do you mean by creating a network? Like going into the Network and Sharing Center and choose "Setup a Wireless Router or Access Point"?

Go to Networks > Network And Sharing Center > Set Up A Connection Or Network

    Thats my best guess...

WAIIIT: It might just be because you have hidden files and disabled sharing of media

Ok, thanks for the input. I'll mess with it later this evening. Class soon.

I'll update later...hopefully I'll have it figured out.
