alright im late for an appointment but i just was basicly almost done with my 1520 7250 with 64bit ultimate and 4 gigs of ram bluetooth 355 and the 1 gb robinsons 8600GT 256 ddr2 laptop settings after 3 days messing with rmclock for my voltages which decreased my load and idle temps by as much as 15-20C.

i basicly found my gpu clock settings i was comfortable with which were set to a modest 525 core 525 mem as opposed to the max settings of 610 core 533mem. without fragments in atitool.

had been running that for a day or more, and messing with my voltages but the 11multiplier the IDA feature where it overclocks when using one core would require a ton more voltage and was forcing me to run higher voltages so i used the performance otion and checked em all but the last one so it wouldnt tryto overclock and set the voltage and tested it with orthos, and continued to test it as i went down the list of multipliers and had it all set up right and after 3 days i was liek cool im finnaly done. restarted and it was fine but my bluetooth was now kinda being messed up which it had been acting funny before so i tried to install the driver over again, it wouldnt let me, i rebooted and viola! NOW I CANT EVEN GET TO MY BIOS LOL

searched the problem and found this but to no avail

i held the button without any change

    help a brother out, lol

It sounds like the graphics card is toast... which means that the laptop is now a paperweight.

yeh i suspect its the graphics too. but who knows, if it were the gpu, it would have probly died during a time it was stressed not when it was running cool.

since i restarted before it crashed i suspect one of a few things happened

1.the bluetooth module is having issues (it was the last problem on my list when the computer died, everything else was running just fine)

1A. im going to try removing it.

    2. the settings i used for a 6X multiplier were possibly saved when i rebooted and the processor cannot run at that low a multiplier. or my bios got messed up.

2A. im going to try to reset the cmos (how do i do that on a 1520? wheres the switch/jumper & battery?)

    3. the harddrive might have died.

3A. im going to take it out and hook it up to a external enclosure.

    4. the gpu possibly died.

4A. ill send it in for warrenty repair if its still under warrenty.

in any case if anyone has any suggestions or help with where the cmos jumper is on the laptop that would be appreciated.

I think the undervolting might have not let the fan run as much as it should have, since the CPU and GPU share a single heatsink. The GPU might have gotten a little too hot.

was monitoring gpu temps, they were never above the incredibly low 50's while i was doing what i was doing, on top of which they are rated to 109C, id say is was in the safe zone ;) and even when i was load testing they never really got that hot, since i was running the cpu processor at 15C cooler than before, so like you said with the shared heatsink it was all running very cool i dont belive they ever got hotter than 72C under load. but were normally around 50-60ish

still need some help with the cmos.
