    Vista Aero - What happened to it?

    Just got a different computer, the old one had vista premium, as does this.

    How do I get the thumbnails back? (Properties on the toolbar leaves thats option un-checkable.

    How do I get the 'switch between windows' button to show all windows cascaded over eachother like it used to. on this computer it just shows an icon for each window by program type.

    Still have the sidebar though ;)

    Control Panel > Appearance & Personalization > Personalization > Window Color & Appearance > Open classic appearance properties > Color Scheme: Windows Aero

    (Why they labeled that "color scheme", I'll never understand.)

    And also go to:

    Control Panel > Sys & Maint > Perf & Tools > Adjust visual effects
    ...and either choose "best appearance", or turn on desktop comp., transparent glass, thumbnails, and anything else you want.

    Hmm, got the first part to work, (yes I pushed apply) but later it reverted back. weird

    No luck on the first part, everything was checked, I clicked best appearance, I'll try restarting.

    I know when I maximize a window the transparency goes away, but when I restore down (shrink) a window the transparency comes back.
