A few days ago, I went through most all of the background services using services.msc, and disabled most of them that I do not need. I also did this for startup items.
However, it seems that something I shut off has disabled the Wi-Fi Catcher that came installed with my 1420. Does anyone know what I need to turn back on to make this work again? I can still access the internet, so it isn't too big of a deal, but I do like being able to see how many networks are in range every now and then.

It's probably a zero-conf or something similar. Teaches you to go messing around with things you apparently "don't need"
Seriously though, be careful doing that stuff if you don't know what ramifications it may have. It's pretty easy to make a Windows machine unbootable that way.
