    Hi everyone!

I just received my HP 8510p with Vista Business and a 120GB HDD.
I must say that this Notebook rocks the hell, but since I want to avoid bad surprises:

I have a fully functioning Acer Travermate 4002LMi with only 60GB HDD which is fully packed (nearly no free HDD-space left).
Now since I decided to keep my mp3's, and College stuff on both notebooks I want an external HDD for additional storage.

How much disk space does an Vista BackUp (complete/data) consume, if I backup a full HDD-disk (all 120GB) because I want to use my 40GB internal HDD as back up?

    Thanks in advance

It will take up as much space as what is used on the HDD, so if your only using 40gb of a 120gb HDD the complete backup will only take up 40gb.

You do realize that the Complete PC Backup in Vista Business and Ultimate are images. You cannot access the individual files from this type of backup, you can only reinstall/recover your whole hard drive in one go.
