    Hello,

I have a WD MyBook 250gb external drive.
It works fine but when my system is up, and I plug in the USB wire, hard drive powers up immediately, but takes around 2 minutes to appear in "computer" and become usable, any ideas?

Also when I have the hard drive plugged in, Vista takes about 5 minutes to boot up, even though external is disabled in BIOS, so I just keep it unplugged whenever I restart.

    So ideas?

Same with my 500gb. I think its the drive, because i have 2 other externals (that i made) and they are near instantly ready. It must be something with the WD's not vista.
