Ok, I was finally getting used to Vista and getting happy with it. Now all of a sudden my hard drive grinds constantly on startup, during use, and shutdown.

The only thing I've done lately is update my video card drivers, and don't think that has anything to do with it.

I wish there was a way to see everything that was being read and written to the hard disk so I could see what is so dang important...

Any reason this would happen all of a sudden?

If you go to task manager, click the performance tab, down at the bottom click on resource monitor. There you can see everything the disk is reading and writing.
