I burnt a data DVD full of pictures maybe a month ago. I used the option where you can keep adding materials to the DVD. I added some pictures later and that checked out fine.

But now, when I put it into my PC, Vista reads it as a blank DVD. I tried this on another PC and still the same thing.

    Please help....

. maybe the "adding session" in the burning fried it, hitting the limit w/o knowing it
. tried with different OS? just a wild recommendation

    cheers ...

What program did you use to burn your DVD?

I just used explorer to drag and drop the folders and clicked "burn to data disc".

I have already tried it on a pc with XP Pro. I am still seeing the same thing.

The windows built-in burn software isnt very good. Ive had bad experiences with it since XP.

I suggest you download a program like ImgBurn or CDBurnerXP. Its free and will probably do a better job.

    I will definitely do that.

Do you have any idea on what is causing this problem? After the first burn, I still saw the pictures. After the 2nd burn, I still saw the pictures. But now, the disc is blank.

Did you use multisession each time you burned things to the DVD? Did you ever finalize the DVD? It also may have just gone bad.

Too many session write is not good for the health of the DVD. It may make the DVD gone bad, especially you are using the built-in Windows burner, which is not good at all. Are you using DVD-R or DVD+R?

Multisession was used both times. The disc was never finalized. If the DVD-R went bad, will that cause it to show it as a blank DVD in Vista/XP? Wouldnt it show as a bad disc?
