Ok, I selected my icon at Large.

Default window Icons don't have a border(clear box) around it,
but the thrid party apps do.

How can I get rid of that or fix it?

    Heres a pic ...........

It's worst when I move mouse over it.

there is probably a way to get rid of that, registry, etc. etc. The Tweak UI app for xp allowed getting rid of the stupid little aero on desktop shortcuts.

very strange effect, i am also using vista, and i don't have such problem. did you change something in the theme configuration? like a "icon border" or something? can you try to go to personalize desktop and reapply the default theme?

I just realized this only happens when you select View Large Icons.

On Medium and Small Icons eveything is fine.
