My college is liscenced with Microsoft, so they are getting Vista Enterprise. I can get a copy for like 10 or 20 dollars. From what I've read, Enterprise edition is the same as Business edition with more security stuff (stuff I'll never use). But can I do an upgrade instead of a clean install with Enterprise on my Windows XP Pro system? Is Enterprise for 20 dollars better than a Business upgrade for 200 dollars?

Typically, universities site-license full versions of software and not upgrades. That said, whether or not you can upgrade "in place" might depend on how your university arranged the site license. It's worth a call to the computer store to find out -- they should be able to tell you right away better than anyone here can.
On the other hand, there are lots of people on this site who are desperate to do a full install and are just finding out that it's going to cost $$$ more. Maybe you should buy your Enterprise version and set up a trade...? -
Got mine free through TAP, and it's also on MSDNAA. Dunno, maybe your university's president is a Linux fan.

How do I get stuff from MSDNAA? And what is this MSDNAA?
Oh, and what's TAP? XD -
Heh they're acronyms for "your university has ties with MS and gets freebies for its students".
Vista Enterprise?
