Hey guys, having some problems with my Vista computer. This has only been happening for about the past 30 minutes.

Will be browsing the web and my screen, mouse, everything will freeze up, and I have to hold the power button to restart. It wont do it automatically, only 5-25 minutes after starting the computer.

I have restored my computer to about 7 hours ago (was working fine at that time), and I am running a virus scan as we speak.

But if it still continues, what would cause this problem? My computer is brand new, and I did not install any new software. The only thing that was different was the "GameSpy Comrade" (I recently bought and installed Crysis and The Orange Box) that started up when I normally restarted my computer. I created an account and everything, then like 30 minutes afterward it started happening.

Any info would be nice. Thanks guys.

It could be overheating. Recent software updates from Windows Update could also be the source of the problem. Use a program like HWmonitor to keep an eye on your temps.

    Ok, I will try that.

Also the virus scan came up with nothing, and the system restore seems to have fixed it. Been about 30 minutes since restart.

Just find it odd it would freeze just like that, and with a simple system restore it fixed it.....

Maybe a bad Windows Update or something.
