I have a 3 year old HP Notebook..

    HP dv6500t
-2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo 2
    -2 GB DDR2
    -120 GB HDD
    -Vista Home Premium

Everything has always worked fine on it until a few days ago. After the battery died, I plugged it in and started up the computer.

I logged onto Vista and now get about 2 minutes before the entire computer freezes, I cant even open up Task Manager.

When I log into Safe Mode, I get about 10 minutes before the same thing happens. Is there anything I can do in Safe Mode quickly to solve the issue?

Even a Safe Mode boot with Command Prompt will freeze after about 10 minutes of CHKDSK

I dont have any Restore points to go back on, is my only option a HP Restore or has anyone else had this issue?

    Thanks
