One last time Folks &
Getting Boot Logo to work with Vista Service Pack 1
To attempt this one last time, I have made up the two new files. One is my newly generated winload.exe.mui file that I renamed to davewinload.exe.mui and the other; winload.exe, which I simply cut and paste onto desktop, changed file name to davewinload.exe and put back in sys.32 folder
(after changing permissions of that file itself.)
Its been suggested to me, that making two start-up entries in the bcdedit console may help the situation Ive probably read that wrong but anyways after working out what bcdedit does and how to edit some lines; I changed in the hope that I could force the boot logo to stay and not revert as it seem to be the case with Vista service pack 1!!!
Here are my default settings ..
![]()
The first thing I wanted to do was change the file name in the Path C:/windows/System32/winload.exe to C:/Windows/System32/davewinload.exe
However I encountered the following error, but after I type it in manually it worked.as seen below...
![]()
The next things I changed was the nx
And Description to have the new boot entry looking like this:
![]()
So with files in place and new boot entry saved I restarted and guess what...I did not work......AAARRGGHHHH
I am sure the idea was on the right track.......any thoughts out there on what parts of the entry I should be changing and how I should handle the files???
Cheers guys![]()
