Can someone please give me a breakdown of these three Vista options and tell me if Vista Ultimate is really worth the extra price?

    Easy answer - No.

Get Home Premium if you want a Media Center PC, or get Business if you don't want a lot of those extra things. I personally prefer Business.

go to the Windows Marketplace and you will find the features of each. For me, Business was the best choice also as I don't really do the Media Center stuff.

I personally want Ultimate but I'm not willing to pay for the upgrade. I had Business and liked it but wanted media center for Xbox 360 connectivity. Well now I have Home Premium with media center and think the connectivity is no good for me. You have to have at least one ethernet connection and both my Xbox and notebook PC are wireless. I guess I should go back to Business. I loved the backup options.

I went with Ultimate because I hate not having everything. It's easier to not use something than it is to want it and not have it. But that's just me.

And I only paid $60 extra for Ultimate.

Thanks, I've decided to go with Home Premium, and then maybe upgrade if I want to when 7 comes out.
