I checked out the thread regarding Windows 7 All versions, that requires COA.

It says "like Vista before" on it..

Did a search, found the Vista thread.. but links don't work.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the Vista ISO w/ all versions?

    64-bit is needed.

    Any help is appreciated.

..and I am not interested in anything cracked, hacked, or what not. Sifting through that crap on other sites has been so annoying.

I would like the unaltered one like the 7 links available.. My pc has a COA and I just need the media so I can restore it.

    Thanks in advance.

From what I can gather after some intense googling and searching Microsoft and Digital River website (authorised digital distributor of ISO images) it just isn't available anymore, Also windows 7 is currently not available at the moment. Microsoft have stopped it from being available digitally.

The Windows 7 ISO file downloads (both 32bit and 64bit) at the bottom of the first post in the following thread are both working fine. I tried all 4 just now. http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...-7-download-links-just-like-vista-before.html

As to Vista downloads, I don't think they have been available for quite some time (several years?).

I have the Windows 7 one, awesome and useful. I'm just in a huge bind right now because I need Vista.

I'm hoping someone here who had it from before will post a link to it so I can download.. I haven't needed it until now and I am completely screwed if I can't find it.

Call the support for your laptop brand, they can possibly send you a DVD, or if that fails, try Microsoft. It'll cost maybe $10 or 20, I dunno because I've never done it.

If you find an ISO and you're not sure if it's cracked, you can compare the hash values with this MS site, click Details.
Just make sure you pick the right ISO in the list.
How to compute the MD5 or SHA-1 cryptographic hash values for a file

Searching for the SHA1 may or may not lead you to a copy.

I think you'll have more luck asking friends and neighbors, maybe someone have a DVD lying around.
AFAIK, there are no working links anymore.

I should have been clearer in what I said, I'm Sorry.

I meant on the digital River website.

No I don't.. I had the disk I am asking for in question at one time, (downloaded it with the help of this forum ) but I lost it or someone swiped it.

Now I need it and its gone.. never kept the ISO. I'll learn next time.

I'm hoping someone else has it filed and can hook me up.

I hope you're sure the key works with 64-bit if you find discs, not all 32-bit keys do (if that's what you have).

To be honest, I'm not sure about Vista, but you can use W7 OEM keys for both in most cases. However, there are exceptions.

It's just a heads up: If the key doesn't work with 64-bit, it doesn't have to be something wrong with the ISO, necessarily.

I have the ISO's but I don't know where to host them so you could download it.
It would have to be somewhere where only you would have access and I could remove the file(s) after a couple of hours. Without looking I think the files are around 3GB in size. I would bet that many of us have the ISO's archived from when it was legal to download them.

If it is considered completely illegal to host the files for you, by those here in the know, then I suppose you are SOL.

There is a good chance you will need to ring Microsoft to activate it.

No I doubt it. If the COA and Vista versions match, there shouldn't be a need to call Microsoft unless he's already used the key on the COA before.

It might be different in Vista, but in Windows 7 it is fairly normal to need to call in my experience (some people get lucky). The Windows key you get with a PC is not the same in licensing terms as a retail copy and this is the reason why the automatic activation can fail. But if you ring they will do it manually.

From what I know, the specific file that determines whether the ISO is OEM or Retail is determined by the key itself, not by the ISO a la Windows XP. I've never really had a problem activating using keys on COAs from legal links like these. YMMV though.
