I want to try some Vista transformation pack, basically just for fun. Anybody has a suggestion for a free software that is good in this regard. But I don,t want system slow down.
I have found 2 on softpedia and both are free.
Vista transformation pack3 http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/Vista-Transformation-Pack.shtml
Longhorn trasformation pack 10.5 http://www.softpedia.com/get/System...ation-Pack-To-the-Ultimate-Transforming.shtml
Anybody tried these or some other one. Sorry if I have repeated the thread. I did a quck search and did not find any thing.
Thanks.

Here's my desktop. No background processes are needed here. Site shows you how to do everything.

Try googling Vista Inspirat. I used that for quite awhile, and it was great. I think the best thing about those transformation packs are the icons. I now have an icon transformation pack instead of the full shell change.
What you really should try is patching the uxtheme.dll. Just google that too. It allows you to download any theme for xp and apply it just like you would the silver or olive green. Right now I'm using a brushed metal theme that looks quite nice. -
nathan, you have a link to that wallpaper? i just grabbed that theme and my old wallpaper doesn't really fit

i got the icons, definitely an important part. i really like the taskbar up top with the dock down below. i think i'm switching to that permanently.
i went from the vista to the osx last night. i wish there was something with that same general vista look but without so much black. -
i forgot to mention that i've gotten 2 BSODs since I set all this up. Uh oh. Hopefully it won't be a recurring thing, but we'll see. There's a lot of weird software and patching involved.
