I'm going to be buying a laptop in the next week and have been trying to locate any sort of compatible tv-tuner that will work. For the most part all I've come up with is TV-Tuners do not work on x64-bit Vista unless its got under 4GB of ram. So here are the questions I have because the laptop I'm getting has 4GB of RAM with Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

    • Is it just the software of the tuner itself thats not compatable or the hardware?
    • Is there a list of compatable tuners that work with Vista's Media Center without the use of proprietary software?
    • Are there any tuners out there that are compatable with 64-bit Vista w/ 4GB of RAM?

The specific laptop is the HP dv7-1175nr.

NOTE: I'm looking for answers only regarding 64-bit. If you haven't personally worked with 64-bit please dont answer, speculation doesn't give me an answer when I'm looking to buy something that only "might" work. If all else fails... I'll just install the 32-bit Vista.
