I will soon have a U810 from Fujitsu U810 (800 MHZ and 1G memory). It will have Vista Business loaded on it but I know that it will task this poor little machine too much for my licking. Before I throw XP Tablet on it is there any suggestions on how to optimize Vista to run on slower machines?
I appreciate your help as I have been avoiding Vista like a disease.

Yup.
Top of the forum. Thing called stickies, and there's one that blatantly says "NBR Vista Tips and Tweaks Guide" or something along those lines. Read it. -
with an 800mhz processor, vista is going to be really laggy.

Wow! Thank you for so much help!
Why didn't I think to look at the sticky... I must be new to forums.
Actually I am looking for advice from someone who has used or better yet is using a similar machine that might have some specific tweaks. I would like to avoid experimenting that way.
Speaking of the sticky and other Vista tweak sites... it sure doesn't bode well for an OS that needs so much custom work to meet expectations. I really don't think it should take days of research and experimentation to tweak an OS to work well with you and your computer. Unless screwing around with computers is a hobby. It is not my hobby, I just want the ****ed thing to work right.
Thanks again for the help. I was hoping to tap some experience to help reduce the time I have to spend screwing around with my new computer but all I get is crap.
