    Hi folks,

Not sure if this is the right place for this question but here goes...

Anyone running Vista Permium and Photoshop CS2 with 1G of RAM? I am getting a laptop and was told 1G of RAM will not be enough. Anyone has experience?

    Thanks!

What kind of files are you working with inside of CS2? Size?

It will run. 2 GB RAM is preferred when working with Vista, though, especially with large files, many layers, complicated effects, etc. Just be prepared for it to be somewhat slower on Vista (with 1 GB RAM) than it was on XP.

I wouldn't bet on it being too usable. Reports are that a typical install of Vista with normal other programs uses 500-700MB RAM, that doesn't leave much for CS2. As it is I have 1GB in each of my computers with XP, and will occasionally run into the RAM limits with CS2.

Sure, you can run it - as in you can open Photoshop, but I don't think the experience will be that pleasant

it will be completely fine. most things people do in phothoshop are pretty basic tasks that a lot of computers could handle, it is easy to tell if it is realy taxing, it, but again, 2gb's couldn't hurt, as photoshop can actually use nearly as much memory as you can throw at it.
