Just a simple answer is needed, because I am trying to make room on my HD for new games I am buying, and the 103 GB HD is running low very quick.
I am changing the disk space for my Vista recovery files, as of right now max is 15 GB's.
What is the lowest space I can use? I heard it was 600 MB's.
And what is the "comfortable" size I should use. I was thinking 1-2 GB's.
Thanks.

15gb is waaaaaaaaaay too much
1-2gb sounds right. -
My personal take is to get a larger drive and don't skimp on the recovery area. No one is sure (hand on experience) that Vista is ok with 1-2gigo of recovery space.

. Vista, still "open"

Keep in mind that Vista's ShadowCopy service depends on system restore...
So if you have Vista Ultimate or Business and you shrink the System Restore partition you loose out on that feature, at least.
