    Hey all,

I'm having a problem w/ Vista. It only started yesterday afternoon. Vista has decided that whenever I hit the shutdown button (I changed it under power setttings to shutdown isntead of sleep). It would shutdown, but then automatically restart. I have scoured the internet for an answer. I have done things that had helped users solve the same problem under XP by disabling network cards being able to wake up the computer. I have even disabled mouse and keyboard from being allowed to wake up the computer under device manager. I have no idea why this is happening. I did a system restore so even the programs/files I did add are gone. Vista REFUSES to shutdown. ARGH

Thanks in advanced as this is extremely frustrating.

What model do you have? Did you upgrade the BIOS, if an upgrade was needed?

Go to Start and type "rel"...you will pull up the Reliability and Performance Monitor. Check out the reliability monitor in the window that pops up, and look at all the software and hardware changes that have been made to your laptop just before the problem cropped up.
