Anyone else see this message? After trying to install on a hp pavilion desktop a couple of times I keep getting it.

The desktop is up to date and the Sp1 appeared in the Windows Update window so I figured it was good to good. It installed right away on my laptop. The desktop is last springs model and has the Intel graphics so I thought it might be a compatibility issue with it but it did show up in the Updater.

It downloads and installs and goes through the first two steps and then on the third and final step it gets to 100% and then just sits there for several minutes and then comes up and says the install failed and it is reverting back to the previous version.

Check if you have these three updates installed correctly:KB935509, KB938371, KB937287.

Vista SP1 won't install unless you have these 3 updates installed.

I don't think it would show up in WU if he didn't have these, though. It is probably something like a corrupted windows file it is trying to replace and backup where there is an issue. Other than trying scandisk, I have no other solutions.

I had this same problem last night on my Dell 1720. Got all the way to the end and then reverted back. I haven't had time to troubleshoot.

Update. Tried again to install a couple of days later and it worked fine this time. Only thing i did in between was download a new Nvidia driver from the Dell website but I don't know if this had anything to do with the original error or not.
