I tried installing SP1 and it's been frozen at "installing service pack stage 2 of 3" @ 1% for almost an hour now... hdd light isn't blinking
mouse cursor is frozen in same spot and continues 2 rotate with that animated rotating circle cursor thing
but the screen still turns off after 10min of inactivity and when i move the mouse, screen turns back on (but cursor doesn't move)

do i just wait it out (since it says do not turn off computer)?

    No, it's messed up.
Try rebooting, but you may have to start over.
