Looks like Vista service pack 1 and Windows XP service pack 3 have been released to exclusive beta testers. Should be a few more weeks till a public beta comes out.

Wonder what SP1 offers.
-
Wonder what both will offer?
-
Microsoft has said repeatedly that the public will not see the Vista sp until near the end of the year at the earliest and likely next year
-
I cant confirm that. Talked to the MS support just now and they said "earlier then people think" and that it will come "very soon". I think all the other info the MS said before is all outdated.
-
They will be delayed repeatedly before the deadline

Perhaps with these two service packs it will finally be possible to burn a CD on one OS that can be read on the other?
-
I wonder what's in SP3.
-
I can do that now. You must be doing something wrong if you can't
-
For burning a cd issue, make sure you burn the cd as mastered instead of live cause live treats the cd as a usb drive.
-
I doubt SP3 will have any major bugfixes or feature additions that aren't already available in existing patches/hotfixes. The primary purpose of SP3 will be to bundle the 90+ patches you have to download after an SP2 install into a single download.
-
And SP3 brings an Aero-link GUI to the OS. Looks sweet!
-
The UI in those pics has nothing to do with SP3, as stated in the piece.
